Apr 19, 2024

This week, the Congressional Integrity Project continued to drive the narratives against the baseless, fact-free impeachment attempts of President Biden and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

and lack of evidence in the Mayorkas political stunt

CIP sent out 5 rapid response products, including statements, fact sheets, and roundups.

After delaying for weeks, MAGA House Republicans finally moved forward with their partisan and blatantly unconstitutional impeachment attempt of DHS Secretary Mayorkas.

CIP was mentioned or quoted in the following 3 articles or news appearances.

Politico: The White House is monitoring Mayorkas impeachment — but not actively working the trial. “But beyond those statements, the Biden administration has largely leaned on outside groups to poke holes in the GOP’s case. The groups, led by the Congressional Integrity Project, have continued to paint the effort as a ‘political stunt,’ using the House Republicans’ latest delay in sending the articles to emphasize this point. ‘After pushing back presenting the articles another week, MAGA House Republicans continue to demonstrate that this is nothing but a political stunt and not a legitimate way to address the problems at the border. If the issue was as urgent as MAGA Republicans claim it is, they would have acted immediately to have their MAGA-favorite impeachment managers move the articles forward,’ Kyle Herrig, executive director of the Congressional Integrity Project, said in a memo last week.” [Politico, 4/16/24]

The Township Times: Opinion: Was Biden’s Impeachment Inquiry A Waste Of Time? “According to the Congressional Integrity Project, ‘James Comer has repeatedly engaged in questionable dealings with shady characters and lawbreakers. From shadowy shell companies to business deals with a donor, the new revelations build on earlier reporting that Comer paid his brother hundreds of thousands in land swaps involving special tax breaks.’” [The Township Times, 4/15/24]

Alternet: White House ends GOP’s unsuccessful impeachment saga: report. “Congressional Integrity Project executive director Kyle Herrig emphasized, ‘Recent reporting revealed that Representative Comer has been in talks with at least one publisher regarding a book on his impeachment inquiry into President Biden. Representative Comer and his Republican colleagues have spent the past 15 months relentlessly investigating the president and his family and failed to find any evidence of wrongdoing by President Biden let alone anything impeachable.’” [Alternet, 4/16/24]
