Washington D.C. – Late last night, Elon Musk and Twitter HQ abruptly and with little explanation permanently banned multiple reporters who frequently cover Musk and Twitter from using the platform – an act that seems to go against Musk’s firm “free speech” policy. But where are James Comer and Jim Jordan’s announcements to investigate Musk and Twitter for blatantly violating these journalists’ free speech? In response, Congressional Integrity Project’s Executive Director, Kyle Herrig, said the following:
“Comer and Jordan, who have a lot to say about Twitter censorship when it comes to some people’s laptops, have been unusually quiet. For guys who are ready to jump on Twitter for supposedly censoring negative news about the current president, the clear censorship of journalists who cover Musk and Twitter should be at the top of their agenda when they become the chairs of the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees. Comer and Jordan’s failure to comment on this censorship simply highlights the partisan games they are playing: they don’t actually care about free speech, they care about hurting President Biden. They refuse to investigate and act on issues that matter to most Americans but instead are focused on taking down each and every member of the current administration, all to make more room for themselves at the top and push their radical MAGA agenda on Americans.”
