WASHINGTON – After reporting that the Trump administration has paused all federal grants and loan disbursements, Congressional Integrity Project senior advisor Kyle Herrig issued the following statement:

“Russell Vought isn’t even confirmed yet and already the Trump administration is enacting his vision, trampling on Congress and the Constitution with a two-page memo that unilaterally withholds funding for disaster aid, farms, cancer research, schools, and more American priorities that have been appropriated by Congress. This is a direct assault on our constitution and it puts American families in danger.

“No Senate Republican who cares about their constituents or the purpose of their own job could possibly advance his nomination under the cloud of this directive – and all Americans should be concerned about the Trump administration’s ongoing and unconstitutional attempt to expand executive powers.”
