Washington, D.C. – This morning, ahead of a hearing with the House Judiciary Committee, Special Counsel Robert Hur’s transcribed interview with President Biden over his handling of classified documents was released. In response, Congressional Integrity Project executive director, Kyle Herrig said the following:
“The transcript of Hur’s two-day-long interview with the President confirms that Hur misrepresented President Biden and his state of mind in his report. The Trump-appointed prosecutor just couldn’t miss his opportunity to take a political stab at the President. Despite acknowledging the President committed no crime and recommending no charges be filed, he went outside of his job description and Department of Justice standards and did Trump’s bidding instead. Today’s House Judiciary Committee hearing is just another MAGA effort to harm President Biden and help Donald Trump return to the White House in 2024.
The bottom is that after a lengthy and in depth investigation and interview, Robert Hur determined that charges were NOT warranted against President Biden. It’s time for Congress to move on and address the American people’s priorities.”
