Washington, D.C. – In an interview over the weekend, House Speaker MAGA Mike Johnson spoke on this week’s bogus expected impeachment hearings of Department of Homeland Security Secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas. In response, Congressional Integrity Project executive director, Kyle Herrig, issued the following statement:
“The bogus impeachment of Secretary Mayorkas is just another political stunt from a MAGA Speaker who is doing the bidding of Donald Trump and his extremist caucus. They are playing politics with the issues most important to the American people, rather than solving the problems with our country’s immigration system. The suggestion that Secretary Mayorkas has intentionally made matters at the border worse is outrageous, shameful, and belied by the actual facts of the Secretary’s efforts – which have included no help whatsoever from MAGA House Republicans.”
