Washington, D.C. – Today the Project 2025 director Paul Dans stepped down from his role after drafting the extreme policy playbook supported by Donald Trump and JD Vance that threatened democracy and the rule of law. Trump and other MAGA Republicans quickly claimed this was the death of Project 2025.

In response, Congressional Integrity Project executive director Kyle Herrig said the following:

“Unfortunately for our country, Paul Dans’ resignation is not going to stop MAGA Republicans. Convicted felon Donald Trump and his lackey JD Vance support the extreme Project 2025 agenda and his resignation does not change the fact that they want to impose it on the American people. Speaker Mike Johnson and his fellow MAGA Republicans in Congress have been pushing policies outlined in Project 2025, all while doing everything in their power to try to get Donald Trump back into the White House. Today’s news does not change a thing. Americans are still threatened by the policies in Project 2025.”
