Washington, D.C. – This afternoon, the MAGA House Republicans on the House Education and the Workforce Committee issued a subpoena to Governor Tim Walz in regard to his oversight of Feeding Our Future as the next act in their circus of investigations into their political rivals. They are subpoenaing him despite the fact that the FBI has thoroughly investigated the organization and charged 70 individuals – not a single one being a state employee. This subpoena and investigation are nothing more than MAGA House Republicans using their official positions to do the bidding of a convicted felon, Donald Trump, and act as an arm of his campaign.
In response, Congressional Integrity Project executive director Kyle Herrig said the following:
“MAGA Republicans have gone to great lengths to abuse their power in the House of Representatives. Over the past year and a half, they have done absolutely nothing to benefit the lives of hard-working Americans across the country. Instead, they continue to weaponize Congress, do the bidding of convicted felon Donald Trump, and act as an arm of his campaign to help him return to the White House and enact the radical Project 2025 agenda. This subpoena of Governor Tim Walz is desperate and embarrassing.”
