Washington, D.C. – Today, the MAGA House Oversight Committee held another political stunt hearing on the Biden Administration’s immigration and border policies while actively refusing to help fix our broken immigration system. As expected, the hearing was nothing but a political stunt and continues to show MAGA House Republicans are only playing politics and have nothing but the wrong priorities.
In response, Congressional Integrity Project executive director, Kyle Herrig, issued the following statement:
“MAGA Republicans continue to prove they are only capable of playing politics. They hosted a hearing on immigration and the border while they continue to refuse to work with even their own GOP colleagues in the Senate on bipartisan immigration policies – just days after their own Speaker walked away from a bipartisan deal. The MAGA House Republicans refuse to agree on even trying to find a solution to decades-long immigration problems as long as Joe Biden is president. They want the issue to help Donald Trump return to the White House. The bottom line is that for MAGA House Republicans like James Comer, Mike Johnson, and Marjorie Taylor Greene, it’s all about politics and the border be damned.”
