Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner sent a bizarre letter to Secretary of State Anthony Blinken regarding conversations Blinken had more than two years ago as a private citizen with other private citizens regarding Russia’s efforts to interfere in the 2020 election. In response, Congressional Integrity Project executive director, Kyle Herrig, issued the following statement:
“After House Republican’s investigations ‘sputtered out of the gate’ they are doubling down with a series of nonsensical accusations, dressing them up as somehow important. The record is clear: Russia tried to interfere in the 2020 election. It was publicly reported at the time, discussed by private citizens and validated by the Trump Administration’s own intelligence reports.
“It’s sad that MAGA House Republicans, like Jim Jordan and Mike Turner, are continuing their political circus instead of working to fix the real issues facing the American people.”
