Washington, D.C. – Today, House Republicans announced they will vote next week to authorize an impeachment inquiry into President Biden. They are pushing ahead with this desperate stunt even though their yearslong investigation has not produced a single shred of evidence of wrongdoing by President Biden, let alone one that rises to the level of impeachment.
Congressional Integrity Project executive director, Kyle Herrig, issued the following statement:
“With all the pressing business our country faces, the only thing the MAGA House majority is planning to do before breaking for the holidays is to push forward with their bogus impeachment inquiry into President Biden. Make no mistake: this is all about hurting President Biden and helping Donald Trump. They have repeatedly admitted this. When the House votes, every member will have to go on record to either authorize the most bogus and politically brazen impeachment effort ever – siding with election deniers, insurrectionists, conspiracy theorists, and the arsonist of democracy, Donald Trump – or do the right thing and put an end to this farce which is preventing Congress from focusing on critical priorities like access to health care and the cost of living. The choice is clear.”
