Washington, D.C. – Today, new reporting revealed that both top candidates for Speaker of the House, Jim Jordan and Steve Scalise, have committed that they will continue the bogus impeachment inquiry of President Biden if elected Speaker – the same investigation that has not yielded a single shred of evidence of wrongdoing over the past ten months and had a disastrous first hearing just two weeks ago. In response, Congressional Integrity Project senior advisor, Leslie Dach, issued the following statement:

“Speakerless and in a state of complete chaos in the midst of a vicious terrorist attack against our ally Israel, MAGA Republican candidates for speaker are continuing to do Trump’s bidding and focus on the wrong priorities with a baseless impeachment. This impeachment stunt is just a distraction from the MAGA House’s constant failures this year and from Donald Trump’s 4 criminal indictments and 91 felony counts all in an effort to help him return to the White House in 2024.”
