Washington D.C. – Jim Jordan and Republicans on the so-called Weaponization of Government Committee continued their political stunt-filled circus today, spreading conspiracy theories and lies. In response, Congressional Integrity Project Executive Director, Kyle Herrig, issued the following statement:
“Today’s hearing was yet another bizarre political stunt. It was another face-palm moment and the only one with egg on their face after this hearing is Jim Jordan. MAGA Republicans used this hearing to spread baseless conspiracy theories on everything and everyone from Anthony Fauci to Hillary Clinton – with multiple members trying to rehash the 2016 Presidential election. As we expected, Jim Jordan and his committee failed to prove any ‘weaponization’ of the federal government other than their own admissions of using their positions as Members of Congress to attack the President’s family in an attempt to weaken him and their political adversaries. House Republicans continue to show that they do not care about the real issues facing Americans.”
