Washington, D.C. – Today, the House Judiciary Committee hosted a hearing with testimony from Special Counsel John Durham on his report that failed to dispute a single conclusion in the Mueller Report and cannot prove a magnificent deep state conspiracy. In response, Congressional Integrity Project executive director, Kyle Herrig, issued the following statement:
“Durham’s testimony today shows how far MAGA Republicans will go to prove Donald Trump is a victim. This is the man who incited a violent insurrection at our nation’s Capitol to try and overturn an election, who was indicted by a federal grand jury for 37 criminal counts including conspiracy to commit obstruction of justice and violation of the Espionage Act, who is facing 34 business fraud felony indictments in New York related to covering up an affair with a porn star, and who was found by a jury to have sexually assaulted E. Jean Carroll, who he also defamed. MAGA Republicans’ continuous pursuit to prove his innocence proves how unserious they are and how little credibility House Republicans have to conduct their own investigations.”
