Washington, D.C. – Today, news broke that House Oversight Committee chairman James Comer has expanded his baseless political stunt investigation into Governor Tim Walz.
In response, Congressional Integrity Project executive director Kyle Herrig said the following:
“Comer’s new letter to FBI Director Wray – attacking Governor Walz for supporting research at his state’s public university — is just the latest example of MAGA House Republicans’ baseless political stunts and more proof they are acting as an arm of the Trump campaign. If Comer actually cared about legitimate oversight, he would investigate the Trump family and their extensive financial ties to the Chinese Communist Party. I would say James Comer should feel embarrassed, but it seems clear after the last year and a half that he is incapable of that.”
