Washington, D.C. – Today, James Comer made yet another appearance on Fox & Friends to talk about how “eager” he is for local Kentucky and Tennessee prosecutors to go after President Biden in retaliation for the Manhattan District Attorney’s legitimate indictment of Donald Trump. In response, Congressional Integrity Project executive director Kyle Herrig, issued the following statement:
“James Comer just gave away the MAGA Republican game plan. In retaliation for Donald Trump being charged in Manhattan with 34 counts of illegally falsifying business records, they plan to weaponize the government and courts against President Biden using local prosecutors and bogus charges. The fact that James Comer is spending more time talking to the Fox News base, and celebrating and encouraging more illegitimate, baseless investigations, only further proves there is no bottom for the MAGA Republicans in Congress. None.”
