Washington, D.C. – Audio of Donald Trump’s explosive admission that he knew the documents he had were still classified was released last night as Trump faces 37 felony counts over his handling of classified documents. In response, Congressional Integrity Project executive director, Kyle Herrig, issues the following statement:
“While Jim Jordan, James Comer, and Kevin McCarthy continue their phony political stunts against President Biden, their failed leader Donald Trump has been caught red-handed and is actually on tape admitting to his crimes. These MAGA Keystone cops are so desperate to protect Trump and shift the media focus that they are planning bogus impeachment proceedings against President Biden and his Cabinet officials and are spreading debunked and baseless conspiracy theories, all while hypocritically and shamelessly defending Trump at every turn. Jordan, Comer, and other MAGA Republicans have made clear that their focus is to hurt President Biden in an attempt to get Trump back in the White House rather than helping fix the issues the American people actually care about like health care, rising costs, and gun violence.”
