Washington, D.C. – Today, House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green made vile, antisemitic comments to his colleagues regarding Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas as Green and his MAGA colleagues attempt to impeach the Secretary without a shred of evidence of impeachable offenses. In response, Congressional Integrity Project executive director, Kyle Herrig, issued the following statement:

“The Chairman’s comments toward Secretary Mayorkas are absolutely vile. This antisemitism displayed by the Chairman has no place in our country. We condemn Congressman Green’s comments and urge his colleagues on the Homeland Security Committee and the rest of the House to do the same. MAGA House Republicans are so desperate to hurt the Biden administration and help Donald Trump that there is no limit to how low they will stoop, including using dehumanizing, antisemitic tropes. How many people need to be slandered and how much more time will be wasted before House Republicans get back to the business of helping Americans on the issues that matter most to them like the economy and health care costs.”
