Washington, D.C. – Today, in a desperate bid to distract from the trash fire that is the current chaos of the MAGA House Republican majority, James Comer released bank records that show not a single shred of wrongdoing by President Biden. In fact, Comer himself admits in his own presentation that the check from James Biden to Joe Biden – when he was out of office in 2018 – was a loan repayment.
In response, Congressional Integrity Project executive director, Kyle Herrig, issued the following statement:
“Once again, Comer has promised evidence of wrongdoing by the President and has shown absolutely nothing of the sort. This is a desperate and transparent attempt by Republicans to distract from their inability to do the bare minimum and elect a speaker and the resulting chaos of the week. It’s beyond time for Comer and MAGA Republicans to stop this ‘no evidence’ sham impeachment, get back to work, and turn their focus back on addressing the issues keeping working families up at night.”
