From the beginning of his tenure as House Speaker, Mike Johnson has failed to address any of the important issues facing Americans across the country, allowing the House of Representatives to waste time and resources investigating Trump’s political opponents and acting as an arm of the disgraced former president’s campaign. With Johnson’s history as one of Trump’s most loyal supporters, of threatening our democracy, and being an architect of election denial, it’s no surprise that at Trump’s New York City rally last night, Trump bragged about Johnson and the role he plans for him post-election.
Mike Johnson will be in charge of presiding over the certification of the election result. On January 6th, 2020, MAGA Republicans tried to overturn the election by refusing to certify the election. They’ll have another chance this January. Americans can’t trust Speaker Mike Johnson to follow the law and certify the election while he is in Trump’s back pocket.

During a rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Sunday, Trump told the crowd, “I think with our little secret we are gonna do really well with the House [of Representatives], our little secret is having a big impact, [Speaker Mike Johnson] and I have a little secret, we will tell you what it is when the race is over.”
CHASER: Axios: Exclusive: Johnson Expects “Fully Supportive” Trump For Speaker Race. “House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) expects he’ll get help from a ‘fully supportive’ former President Trump in a potential speaker race in the next three months. […] ‘I have a very close working relationship with President Trump and consider him now a close friend. I know that’s mutual, and he tells me how much confidence he has in my leadership,’ Johnson told Axios in an exclusive interview. ‘I expect that he’ll be fully supportive so that will make a big difference,’ Johnson said. ‘I believe he’s going to be elected decisively as president, and he will be the leader of our party, and he’ll have a large voice in everything that happens in Washington, so it’ll be important.’”
