CIP to Remind Kevin McCarthy Who Holds the Real Power in Congress
Washington, DC – On Monday, January 2, 2023 at 6:00 PM ET, Congressional Integrity Project will host a projection display at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and 3rd St NW to remind Kevin McCarthy and Republicans who holds the real power in Congress: Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Though he is likely to become the next Speaker of the House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy is beholden to extremists like Marjorie Taylor Greene for throwing their support behind his speakership. Meanwhile, Greene is banking on the power McCarthy will hand her in return for her support to pursue MAGA Republicans’ extremist agenda, including partisan investigations designed to do nothing more than hurt President Biden politically.
Congressional Integrity Project will also be putting up posters around Capitol Hill calling out Rep. McCarthy’s obligation to Rep. Greene and her extremist wing of the Republican Party.
