Jim Jordan Once Again Attempts to Interfere in the Justice Process In Order to Protect Donald Trump from His Crimes

Apr 25, 2024

Washington, DC – House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, who in 2022 said if given the gavel he would investigate Joe Biden to help Donald Trump win in 2024, without irony attacked Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s prosecution of Trump today as politically motivated in a report released by the Majority Staff of the committee he chairs.

Jordan has spent his time as Judiciary chairman railing against law enforcement, denying the violence and chaos of January 6th, and conducting an evidence-free impeachment investigation of President Joe Biden, all to help Donald Trump. In addition, he has used his chairmanship to interfere in every criminal case Trump is charged in including the Bragg case, Jack Smith’s federal prosecutions related to the January 6th insurrection and Trump’s theft of classified documents and subsequent obstruction and the Georgia Fulton County prosecution for conspiring to illegally overturn the 2020 election results there. At every turn, Jim Jordan, James Comer, Mike Johnson, Marjorie Taylor Greene and scores of Trump-MAGA cultists have moved heaven and earth to shield Trump from his criminality.

In response, Congressional Integrity Project executive director Kyle Herrig said the following:

“We assume that Chairman Jordan is extremely jealous of the fact that Alvin Bragg has overwhelming evidence to support the prosecution of Donald Trump while the Chairman has only conducted investigations based on conspiracy theories and lies. Instead of focusing on the important issues facing the American people, Jordan has chosen to waste his committee’s time writing a novel-length report no one will read, all to help his dear leader, Trump, return to the White House next year and escape accountability for his crimes.”
