MAGA House Republicans have spent the past year investigating Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas in an attempt to help Donald Trump return to the White House. They failed to find any evidence of high crimes or misdemeanors but were able to pass articles of impeachment against Secretary Mayorkas over bipartisan opposition by just one vote.
And, today Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) admitted that Republicans are weaponizing impeachment for political gain, saying that Senate Republicans should “make the most of it” and that the issue of the border is “very good for Republicans” ahead of the November election. He is just the latest Republican to admit that the Mayorkas impeachment is a political tactic to hurt President Biden.

Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.) called the articles a ‘little bit odd’ but recommended that Republicans ‘make the most of it.’”
- “‘The issue of the border is just such a wonderful one for us to talk about as Republicans,’ said Cramer. ‘My personal belief on it — the House did it, so here we are now, we might as well make the most of it. … There’s no question that the details of things at the border right now, a few months from the election, are very good for Republicans.’”
