House Republicans Pursue Debunked ActBlue Claims While Refusing to Investigate WinRed’s Documented Campaign Finance Violations

Sep 4, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. — House Republicans are once again resurrecting their disingenuous ActBlue investigation – deemed “not serious” by campaign finance experts – while ignoring documented evidence that the Republican fundraising platform WinRed facilitated thousands of illegal contributions. This selective enforcement exposes the blatant hypocrisy driving Republican oversight efforts and their abandonment of legitimate congressional responsibilities.

In July, the Congressional Integrity Project sent a letter to House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan, and House Administration Committee Chair Bryan Steil demanding an investigation into WinRed’s systematic violations of campaign finance laws. All three representatives have refused to acknowledge the letter and instead continue wasting taxpayer resources on television appearances promoting their baseless ActBlue conspiracy theories.

In response, the Congressional Integrity Project released the following statement:

“Republicans’ refusal to investigate documented fundraising violations by the platform they most frequently use while pursuing debunked conspiracy theories against a Democratic platform proves that this is simply partisan theater. They choose to look the other way when it’s inconvenient and try to shine a spotlight on manufactured scandals instead.”
