Lawmakers say the Pentagon and White House have repeatedly stonewalled their requests for basic answers about how these awards are made. Appeals Court Rebukes EPA’s Illegal Grab of Climate Funds
The D.C. Circuit has ruled that the EPA’s attempt to claw back $20 billion in climate grants likely broke the law. It’s a pattern that started in the earliest days of Trump’s second term: illegally cut off funding and invent a justification later. EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin froze the funds and terminated the grants outright, inventing bogus fraud accusations against the nonprofits running the program to justify his actions.
