Mike Johnson Pledged to Continue Bogus Impeachment Inquiry into President Biden
Washington, D.C. – Last week, the entire MAGA House GOP – including the Biden 18 – voted for election denier and MAGA Republican extremist Mike Johnson for Speaker of the House. This week, Congressional Integrity Project is launching a new paid digital ad campaign in the eighteen Republican-held districts that were won by Biden in 2020. The ads call out Brian Fitzpatrick and the rest of the Biden 18 for supporting a MAGA, extremist agenda, including an evidence-free impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden, over the American people.
These ads are part of a months-long, seven-figure advocacy campaign run by the Congressional Integrity Project to hold Republicans accountable for ignoring critical priorities and instead, focusing on bogus investigations and an evidence free impeachment inquiry to hurt President Biden and help Donald Trump return to the White House. The ads come after Johnson doubled-down on a bogus Biden impeachment inquiry this weekend.
Congressional Integrity Project executive director Kyle Herrig issued the following statement.
“MAGA Mike Johnson is as extreme as they come but that didn’t stop every single Republican Member of Congress, including those from districts won by President Biden, from voting for him. They knew he was an extremist and a Trump loyalist who was a top architect in the plot to illegally overthrow the election and that he supports an evidence free impeachment inquiry into President Biden. They also knew of MAGA Mike’s support for rolling back access to abortion, his archaic and homophobic views on gay marriage, and his plans to cut Social Security and Medicare. Brian Fitzpatrick and the rest of the Biden 18 need to stop putting an extreme MAGA agenda over their constituents and the American people.”
The ads will run and have a significant online presence in the following districts: Don Bacon (NE-2), Lori Chavez-Deremer (OR-5), Juan Ciscomani (AZ-6), Anthony D’Esposito (NY-4), John Duarte (CA-13), Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1), Mike Garcia (CA-27), Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-7), Jen Kiggans (VA-2), Young Kim (CA-40), Nick LaLota (NY-1), Mike Lawler (NY-17), Marc Molinaro (NY-19), George Santos (NY-3), David Schweikert (AZ-1), Michelle Steel (CA-45), David Valadao (CA-22), and Brandon Williams (NY-22).
