Washington, D.C. – This week, the Congressional Integrity Project launched a new billboard in Atlanta, Georgia calling out Donald Trump and his allies in Congress for trying to interfere in criminal investigations in order to distract from Donald Trump’s criminal prosecutions. In Georgia, Donald Trump and his 19 co-defendants are charged for their efforts to overturn the 2020 election, which resulted in the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol and in Trump’s case his culpability was caught on tape for everyone to hear.

Congressional Integrity Project executive director, Kyle Herrig, issued the following statement:

“Trump and his allies are all about distraction and disinformation. While Jim Jordan and other Trump cronies use their positions in Congress to interfere in investigations into Donald Trump, and as Trump and his allies launch a campaign of character assassination against local prosecutors, no Georgian will forget when Trump demanded the Georgia Secretary of State “find” 11,780 votes to help him overturn the election. Trump and his allies are desperately deploying delay tactics that have nothing to do with the facts in question and everything to do with letting him get away with a multi-prong attack on our democracy resulting in the violence on January 6th. Trump will stop at nothing to destroy our democracy and return to the White House. He must be held accountable for his crimes.”
