Washington, D.C. – Today, the Congressional Integrity Project has sent a letter to Rep. James Comer, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, urging him to direct his investigations to Donald Trump and his family and their connections to the Chinese Communist Party. Donald Trump and his family have extensive financial ties to the CCP, profiting from Chinese business while in the White House and engaging in direct talks, negotiations, and trade deals, compromising our national security.
Congressional Integrity Project executive director, Kyle Herrig, issued the following statement:
“James Comer has spent the past year and a half investigating President Biden and has not turned up a single shred of evidence of wrongdoing whatsoever. Now that his investigation has crashed and burned, it’s time for him to conduct actual oversight and accountability into all the corrupt business deals with foreign adversaries, including the Chinese Communist Party, carried out by former President Trump and his family during their time in office. Rather than investigating serious corruption and influence peddling, Comer is dedicating his time to acting as an arm of the Trump campaign and investigating his political opponents instead.”
