Washington, D.C. – Former ambassador Norm Eisen, who served as counsel to the House Judiciary Committee for Trump’s first impeachment and trial, responded to a transcript released today which refutes Chairman James Comer’s claims regarding President Biden:

“Doing Trump’s bidding, James Comer and Jim Jordan have continued to push these unmerited accusations of bribery, but today’s transcript exposes their political stunts. Republicans have been advancing conspiracy theories about Ukrainian energy company Burisma and President Biden for years. As counsel to the House Judiciary Committee for former President Trump’s first impeachment and trial, I know firsthand just how long Republicans have been advancing these unfounded allegations. Comer and Jordan should reverse course—this investigation has become an embarrassment to the House.”
