Washington, D.C. – Today, the Congressional Integrity Project released a new report titled, WRONG PRIORITIES: How House Republicans and the Biden 17 Spent the 118th Congress Pushing Donald Trump’s Political and Project 2025 Agenda Instead of Americans’ Vital Priorities.
As the 118th Congress draws to a close, the report outlines how historically ineffective the MAGA House Republican majority has been, specifically the House Oversight Committee, led by James Comer, and the House Judiciary Committee, led by Jim Jordan. MAGA House Republicans have been pursuing the wrong priorities of political stunts to do Donald Trump’s bidding instead of solving the real issues facing hard-working Americans across the country.
Congressional Integrity Project executive director, Kyle Herrig, issued the following statement:
“Since taking the majority, MAGA House Republicans have demonstrated that they have nothing but the wrong priorities. They spent a year and a half investigating President Biden, not uncovering a single shred of evidence whatsoever. Then, after President Biden left the race, they immediately and transparently shifted their political stunt investigations to Vice President Harris and Governor Walz to act as an arm of the Trump campaign and attempt to harm his political opponent. They’ve ignored the important priorities of hard-working Americans across the country, like increasing access to health care and lowering the cost of living, all to do Trump’s bidding, threaten our democracy and freedoms, and help Trump return to the White House in 2025 and enact his radical Project 2025 agenda.”
