Re: MAGA House Republicans’ Only Priority Before Leaving Again For A Six-Week Recess – Helping Donald Trump At The Expense Of Their Constituents
MAGA House Republicans are ending their latest work period in Congress the way they began nearly two years ago: doing the bidding of Donald Trump above all else. Since returning from the August recess, MAGA House Republicans have dedicated nearly all of their time to hosting political stunt hearings rather than funding the government or making progress on the important priorities of Americans across the country.
This week, with only a few days left before the House leaves again until after the election, MAGA House Republicans are continuing to act as an arm of the struggling Trump campaign, with eleven hearings that have no goal besides helping Donald Trump’s campaign and harming his political opponent, all so Trump can return to the White House and enact his radical Project 2025 agenda.
This week’s Congressional priorities are three days full of hearings attacking the Biden-Harris administration:
1) Three hearings on the border by the House Homeland Security and Oversight Committees, after MAGA Republicans torpedoed a bipartisan border bill at the request of Donald Trump.
MAGA House Republicans repeatedly held political stunt hearings on what they called the “Biden border crisis” until President Biden announced he was no longer running for President at which point they branded it the “Biden-Harris border crisis.” While they have used these hearings as an outlet to lob political attacks at President Biden and Vice President Harris, they have failed to achieve any results for the American people. When the opportunity came to pass a bipartisan border security deal that would have actually helped the country, they dutifully spiked the bill because Donald Trump told them to.
2) James Comer’s House Oversight Committee will host a hearing on the Chinese Communist Party’s political warfare, after weeks of fear-mongering and spreading conspiracy theories about Governor Walz’s time teaching in China.
Since Governor Walz became the Democratic Vice Presidential nominee, James Comer and his fellow MAGA House Republicans have spread conspiracy theories and fear mongered over Governor Walz’s time teaching in China and his support of a biomedical research center at his state’s public university. If James Comer was actually concerned about influence peddling by the Chinese Communist Party, he would investigate the Trump family’s extensive business ties to the CCP, including while Trump was in office.
3) Jim Jordan’s House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government will hold yet another hearing to attack the FBI.
Jim Jordan will be spending the last Weaponization Subcommittee hearing before the election recycling his old witnesses to attack the FBI and spread conspiracy theories. MAGA House Republicans have spent the past two years relentlessly attacking the FBI and threatening to defund it. Jordan’s Subcommittee has spent its entire time actually weaponizing its federal government authority to interfere in every criminal case in which Donald Trump is charged.
4) House Oversight Subcommittee is holding a hearing featuring two witnesses directly connected to Project 2025.
As Trump and MAGA Republicans pretend to distance themselves from Project 2025, they repeatedly promote and give platforms to Project 2025 authors and coalition groups. Wednesday’s subcommittee hearing will include Paul Winfree who authored a chapter in Project 2025 and a director at the Independent Women’s Forum, a group that was on the advisory board of Project 2025.
5) These surely won’t be the only stunts by House Republicans this week and while the House is in recess.
MAGA House Republicans are growing more and more desperate to help Donald Trump and will continue their political stunts and attacks on President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Governor Walz as long as they can. It’s clear: MAGA House Republicans are committed to using their positions to help Donald Trump above all else – no matter the cost to their constituents and the country.
