Washington, D.C. – On the three-year anniversary of the January 6th attack on our country and our democracy, the Congressional Integrity Project released a new report titled Democracy At Stake: The Same MAGA Republicans Behind January 6th Are Leading The Bogus Impeachment Effort Against President Biden. The report highlights the efforts Donald Trump and his MAGA allies took to overthrow the 2020 election, as exposed by the January 6th Select Committee, and how Donald Trump and his MAGA allies in Congress are still threatening our democracy today.
With the new report comes a video from former January 6th Select Committee Spokeswoman and Congressional Integrity Project senior communications advisor Hannah Muldavin. In the video, Hannah reviews the actions that Donald Trump and his allies took to overturn the 2020 election, ultimately leading to the deadly insurrection at the Capitol.
Congressional Integrity Project executive director Kyle Herrig issued the following statement:
“The January 6th attack was one of the most dangerous assaults on our democracy in modern history, but these attacks didn’t end on January 6th. Our democracy remains threatened by Donald Trump and his allies who will do anything they can to hold onto power, as evident in the absolutely evidence-free, bogus impeachment attempt of Joe Biden. MAGA Mike Johnson, Jim Jordan, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and James Comer, along with Donald Trump himself, continue to push the same conspiracy theories debunked by the January 6th Committee and are now leading the crusade to impeach President Biden without a shred of evidence of wrongdoing.”
