Washington, D.C. – New bombshell reporting in a lengthy and detailed Associated Press investigation has revealed House Oversight Chairman James Comer has repeatedly engaged in questionable dealings with shady characters and lawbreakers – worse than any of the false accusations he has made against President Biden. Shell companies. Shady business dealings with a donor. Problematic associates and former lawbreakers. In light of this reporting, it is clear that the only person James Comer should be investigating for hiding assets, shady deals with donors, and ethics violations is James Comer himself.
In response, Congressional Integrity Project executive director Kyle Herrig said the following:
“James Comer is a charlatan and a fraud and the disclosures in this investigation show that he is completely unfit to be in charge of investigating anyone. We already knew about some of his past issues and involvement with unscrupulous activity – he all but admitted it earlier this year – but this new reporting brings up even more concerning questions about James Comer’s ethics, honesty, and credibility. As more and more evidence against him is brought to light, it becomes clearer that Comer is corrupt and compromised, making him wholly unsuited to judge others.
“Beyond the bombshell disclosure of a shady shell company with a donor where he was hiding assets, which he failed to disclose, it’s striking that since he was a 21 year old county GOP chairman, Comer has been associated with and supportive of shady characters and lawbreakers. The only time James Comer purports to care about ethics is when he is attacking his opponents and never when it involves himself or his shady friends and donors. It is clear that the only person James Comer should be investigating for hiding assets, shady deals with donors and ethics violations is James Comer himself.”
