Washington, D.C. – Today, at an Oversight hearing, Chairman James Comer had a meltdown that would make a toddler blush when another member questioned him about his family’s corruption and influence peddling, as exposed in a bombshell Daily Beast article last week. But Comer’s cursing, yelling, and name-calling can’t hide the fact that his corruption, family influence peddling, and conflicts of interest have been utterly exposed.

In response, Congressional Integrity Project executive director, Kyle Herrig, issued the following statement:

“James Comer had a meltdown today that would make a toddler blush. Comer is feeling the heat. The Daily Beast bombshell story exposed his shady business deals, conflicts of interest, and family influence peddling including a sketchy $200,000 loan to his brother. Comer has repeatedly used his position of power to pass laws forgiving government loans for his family and apparently has changed policy positions on gambling  based on donations from special interests, all with a startling lack of transparency into his own financial dealings.  As they say, if you live in a glass house of corruption, don’t throw stones.”
