Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, Donald Trump directed Republicans in Congress to shut down the government in order to defund his four active prosecutions. In response, Congressional Integrity Project executive director, Kyle Herrig, issued the following statement:
“Trump has never missed an opportunity to throw the American people under the bus for his own personal gain. He is willing to blow up the economy and put working families’ health and safety at risk in order to stymie investigations into his actions. Rather than do their jobs, MAGA Republicans in Congress are going along with his demands, bowing to their dear leader instead of addressing the serious issues facing Americans today.”
