Billboard follows new reporting on past assault accusations of Comer and his vindictive and angry approach to governing
Washington, DC – On March 22, 2023, Congressional Integrity Project will launch a billboard in Frankfort, Kentucky in Rep. James Comer’s district. The billboard highlights new reporting from the New York Times in which he is accused of being “angry and vindictive” and reveals he attempted to smear a woman who accused him of hitting her. Congressional Integrity Project Executive Director, Kyle Herrig, issued the following statement:
“This billboard will serve to remind James Comer that he can’t escape his past. The revelations in the New York Times are nothing short of shocking: he admitted to stealing a server, hacking emails, and leaking them in a brazen attempt to intimidate a former girlfriend who credibly accused him of abuse and a blogger making her accusations public. Not only that, but the loss in that primary made him ‘angry and vindictive.’ How can someone ruling from a place of anger and revenge claim they have credibility to investigate anyone? It’s his own actions which should be looked into and should be the subject of a House Ethics Committee investigation.”
