If Congressional Republicans Are Serious About Accountability, They Must Demand That Donald Trump Testify About His Ties to Jeffrey Epstein
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse will gather on Capitol Hill to demand full transparency and accountability in the ongoing investigation into Epstein’s network of abuse. As Speaker Mike Johnson dismisses calls for complete file disclosure as a “moot point,” a glaring omission remains: Donald Trump, a central figure with documented ties to Epstein, has never been called to testify before Congress about his relationship with the convicted sex trafficker.
Despite Trump’s well-documented friendship with Epstein spanning decades—including shared social engagements, joint and candid photographs and videos, and Trump’s own comments calling Epstein a “terrific guy” who “likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side”—Congress has yet to formally question him under oath about his knowledge of Epstein’s activities.
In response, the Congressional Integrity Project released the following statement:
“Survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s horrific crimes are still waiting for justice, and they’re coming to Congress for help. Republicans can step away from one of their sham investigations and stand behind Epstein’s victims by conducting a real investigation with a real Epstein associate. Donald Trump had a documented relationship with Epstein for years, yet he has never been called to testify about what he knew and when he knew it. If Congress is serious about getting to the truth, they must stop the political theater and start asking the hard questions of everyone involved—including the person in the highest office of the land.”
